How does Life Coaching work?

Suppose you are a golfer. You've developed a slice. Lately you've been spending way too much time in the sand trap on the 7th hole and even more time in the rough on the 11th hole. Golf isn't as much fun as it was when you're game was better and your drives were straight off the tee.

The same thing happens in life. We develop a habit or a pattern of living that eventually begins to affect our lives.

Or maybe we develop a chronic pain syndrome. Life is definitely not as much fun anymore. Our work may be affected, in which case, our money is affected. The trouble is, we're often not given the tools with which to cope with these challenges. That's what a Life Coach helps you with. If you want to improve your golf game, you see the "pro". If you want to make changes in your life, you see a Life Coach.

Coaching is of much shorter duration than therapy or counseling. It's not meant to be a substitute for medical care or therapy. It's simply a course in how to get "from here to there" when you have a goal you don't quite know how to reach.

Any time one replaces an old habit with a new one, it takes about 21 days for the new pattern to become ingrained. Therefore, I usually work in 4 week packages. During the first complimentary session we'll discuss goals and personal styles of goal accomplishment. If you feel we can work together you'll be charged $75 per hour for the next 4 sessions (Negotiation is always an option). Make an appointment for the first complimentary session and let's get you going on reaching your goal today!  For more about "money matters", please click here.

Teri Goodell used her Reiki skills in conjunction with Massage Therapy before she stopped working to home school her children.  She began researching Fibromyalgia when she was diagnosed in 2001. Her research extended to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome when she received that diagnosis in 2004. Her background in Health Sciences led her to search for answers the medical establishment didn't seem to be able to provide at the time. Teri's research and study evolved from how to cope with Fibromyalgia and EDS specifically, to how to cope with chronic pain in general and then into coping skills for Life Challenges. Her Social Work background led her to share what she'd been learning and putting into practice and her Life Coaching practice was born.

* Life Coaching Coaching is a professional service providing clients with feedback, insights, and guidance from an outside vantage point. The profession of coaching is similar to the practice of a physician, attorney, or psychologist. The major difference is that coaching is an on-going collaborative partnership built on taking action. People hire a coach when they are making a career transition, starting a new business, feeling dissatisfied, re-evaluating life choices, or simply looking for personal and professional breakthroughs. Life coaching is not a substitute for therapy, or professional medical advice provided by your physician.

Teri specializes in working with  survivors of childhood abuse, who are now or have been in counseling and, also, individuals who are coping with chronic pain issues.
