M.E. 101

Every single one of us is in the position of being an educator. When we were first diagnosed with our conditions, we needed to find out everything; how to cope, what causes it, which of our symptoms led to the diagnosis and which other's still needed to be investigated. In turn, we, then, were in the position of teaching those who were close to us. Many of us have husbands, wives, children and parents who needed to know what it is we have and how we needed to take care of it. After educating our families, we needed to decide which, if any of our friends, would get our educational attention and whether or not to tell our co-workers or bosses. With each of these different categories of teaching, we needed slightly different approaches. We cannot teach anyone, however, that which we don't thoroughly understand. It's vital that the folks with whom we are in close contact, understand our limitations. It's vital for our own health and for their peace of mind. With this in mind, I will be researching, writing and posting some of the information we need to have digested and made a part of us, so we can teach others what M.E. is all about. I do hope you'll read along with me and, together, we'll spread the word and educate the world. (How's that for a specific goal? lol)
